Insect collecting is fun and educational.

Insects are the most fascinating and interesting animals on Earth They do amazing things, and look really cool too. Did you know that some species of ants raise livestock and grow crops, while others wage war and take prisoners as slaves? There is an insect species from Peru whose head looks like a peanut!

Insect collecting never gets old.

The field of entomology is exciting and interesting. As a child I was diagnosed with attention deficit disorder or ADD. I got bored easily. I had trouble sitting still and focusing on the task at hand. This diagnosis has not changed much since I have become an adult. Operating a power plant, selling home improvements or selling real estate does not hold my attention like finding a really cool bug, and learning about how it lives. With over 900,000 known species of insects, boredom is less of a problem.

Insect collecting supplies are hard to find.

There’s a need for a website and business such as this. After all, have you tried lately to go to super-mart or one of these so-called hobby super-stores and tried to purchase insect pins or a butterfly net that is made for somebody older than 5 years? Of course they do not carry these things. They are not profitable. Insect enthusiasts and collectors, are a rare breed. I do not know about you, but I do not come face-to-face with many people who share the same love for insects as I do. To place a decent butterfly net or an adjustable mounting board on the shelf at the hobby store would mean to take up valuable shelf space that could be better used for some lame (but more profitable) product like fake flowers or crochet. Well, the internet has changed all that. Today, thousands of "bug lovers"; from all over the world can gather together in a single room in cyberspace to share ideas and thoughts, and yes, to purchase those once hard-to-find tools and products that help us to pursue our common love for the field of entomology.
